To log in, please use the new code instead of the old one. When you log in with the old code, you will not see the exercises assigned to you by the specialist.
3. Menu and Catalogue
There are three components on your dashboard: the page header, the menu on the left, and the exercise catalogue on the right, on the main part of the page.
3.1. Header
From the page header you can access these instructions. You can also fill your profile here. Only your specialist can see your profile.
3.2. Exercise Plan, Favorites, and All Exercises
In the menu, under “Exercises”, you can choose between three different views:
“My Exercise Plan” contains exercises assigned to you or your child by the specialist (together with instructions, deadlines and statuses).
“Favorites”contains exercises that you have saved yourself as favorites.
“All Exercises” contains all the public exercises of SpeakTX.
If you do the exercises individually, without a specialist, we recommend that, upon first login, you select “All Exercises” and see what types of exercises SpeakTX offers.
3.3. Filters
There are currently hundreds of public exercises on SpeakTX. In order to find the exercises suitable for you fast, you can use the filters in the menu:
“Age Group” – these filters allow you to find age-appropriate exercises (exercises for children of various ages and exercises for adults).
“Language Field” – thesefilters allow you to find exercises about speech perception, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, communication, reading, and writing.
“Language Level” – these filters allow you to find exercises about speech automatisms, words, phrases, sentences, and text.
Select the suitable categories of exercises from the menu and see the exercises of the selected categories in the main part of the page.
3.4. Search Bar
On SpeakTX you can search for exercises by title, using the search bar. You can use the search bar in all the catalogues and in the exercise plan.
3.5. Exercise Catalogue
The catalogue consists of units of exercises displayed on the basis of your selection in the menu. Each unit consists of a title, a description and the exercises. The description will help you better understand the content and purpose of the exercises, especially if you do them individually.
At each exercise there is the “Start” button, which gives you access to the exercise.
4. Exercise Plan (Specialist-Guided Use)
The exercise plan enhances cooperation between you or your child and your specialist. The specialist can assign specific exercises to you or your child, with additional instructions and deadlines. You will have a better overview of what the specialist expects from you when doing the exercises.
You can only use the exercise plan if you use SpeakTX under the guidance of a specialist. If you use SpeakTX independently, you will not be able to use it. In this case, we recommend that you find the exercises that you or your child likes or that are suitable for you or your child and add them as favorites.
In the exercise plan you can see the title, the description, the deadline and the status.
4.1. Exercise
To open an exercise, select its title.
The specialist can add both SpeakTX exercises and their own exercises described as text to the plan. The SpeakTX exercises are in red, while the specialist’s own exercises are in blue.
4.2. Description, Conversation, and Notifications
The specialist can add instructional descriptions to each exercise that they add to the plan. You can see the beginnings of such descriptions in the main view of the exercise plan. When you select it, a separate window will open, which contains the whole description. In the same window, you can ask the specialist for more information about the exercise. The conversation between you and the specialist is private.
The specialist can send notifications to your email about each exercise or comment added to the plan. This enables you to keep an eye on the changes in the exercise plan without having to log in to SpeakTX.
4.3. Deadline
If the specialist has set a deadline for an exercise, you will see it in the main view of the exercise plan. When the deadline of an exercise has passed, it will be displayed under “Expired Exercises”.
4.4. Status
The status of an exercise in the plan is is indicated by coloured circles:
Gray indicates that you have never passed an exercise fully at least once.
Green indicates that you have completed an exercise fully at least once (before the deadline).
Red indicates that the deadline of the exercise has passed and you have not completed it fully at least once.
4.5. Video Consultation
Your specialist may use video consultations in the therapy. You will find the video consultation link in the exercise plan.
5. Exercise Intro Page
If you use the platform individually, find a suitable exercise from the catalogue and select “Start”. If you use the platform under the guidance of a specialist, open the exercise plan, find an exercise assigned to you by the specialist, and select its title.
You will first see the intro page of the exercise, where you will find the following information:
How to use the exercise?
What is the exercise for?
What does the exercise develop?
Most SpeakTX exercises can be done independently. In case it is prohibited to do an exercise independently, a warning is displayed on the intro page of that exercise.
You will also find here the following buttons:
“Start the Exercise” – allows you to open the exercise.
“See the Results” – allows you to see your results in statistical view (after your first attempt) and to assess your progress.
“Add to Favourites” – allows you to save the exercises you like to the designated part of the catalogue (“Favorites”) so you will find them faster later on.
6. Exercise Content
After you have selected “Start the Exercise” on the intro page of the exercise, you will be shown the content of that exercise.
In case of exercises that include sound, turn on the speakers on your device.
You will see the following components:
Content of the exercise (in the main part of the page).
Title and duration of the exercise (at the upper left corner).
Exercise settings and exit button (at the upper right corner).
Each exercise is spread out on multiple pages. You are required to do something on every page. In most exercises, you will be given immediate feedback on each page. The correct answer is indicated by the green colour. An incorrect answer is indicated by the red colour.
The pagesof an exercise are indicated by circles above the images or the text. The circles show your progress through the exercise and, depending on the settings of the exercise, your correct and incorrect answers.
The gear at the upper right corner of the screen provides you access to the exercise settings. Depending on the exercise, you can change, for example:
The number of answers displayed (to lower or raise the level of difficulty of an exercise).
The characters of the text (all uppercase, all lowercase, or initial letter uppercase).
The feedback settings (whether feedback will be provided after each individual action on a page or after all the actions on a page have been completed).
After the completion of the exercise your results will be displayed (usuallyas a percentage of correct answers) as well as the amount of time that you needed to pass the exercise.
You can see the statistics of your correct and incorrect answers on the intro page of the exercise, under “See the results”.
7. Extension of Subscription
If your subscription package expires you will lose access to SpeakTX exercises.
Extend your subscription if your subscription package has expired.
In the exercise catalogue, select “Show all exercises”, select a subscription package that suits your needs, and pay for it.
After you have paid for the renewed subscription, your access to all the SpeakTX exercises is restored.
